If you drive from South Africa your first nights accommodation would be a choice between Orange River Lodge self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation in Noordoewer or Grunau Country House bed and breakfast accommodaion in the old Grunau Hotel or Grunau Lodge self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation. A night in Canon Lodge near the Fishriver Canyon is highly recommended before you visit Sossusvlei or Sesriem Here you can choose between Sossusvlei Lodge or Sossusvlei Desert Lodge self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation. If you decided to use the road via Windhoek you will most likely overnight at Mariental River Chalets self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation

You can easily drive from Sossusvlei to Cape Cross Lodge but we believe that you would like to stay at least two nights at either Alte Brucke or The Stiltz in Swakopmund before visiting Cape Cross Lodge.

From Cape Cross you will follow the Skeleton Coast into the Skeleton Coast National Park and from there you will turn inland into Damaraland. Both Twyfelfontein Country Lodge near the petrified forest, and Palmwag are within a days drive from Cape Cross Lodge. You can actually continue further to places such as Vingerklip Lodge and Ugab Terrace Lodge which both overlook the Vingerklip rock or perhaps even to Etosha Lodge in the Etosha National Park.

If you plan to drive from Cape Cross Lodge to the CAPRIVI in the far north east of Namibia, then you will need an overnight stop. In the Caprivi we stongly recommend accommodation such as Kwando Camp, Mazambala Island Lodge, Ngepi Camp along Kavango River or Kaisosi River Lodge just east of Rundu.
